The name “Dai-ichi” comes from the word “Dai-ichi-gitai” in Buddhism, which means “the truth” or “the best,” and “that which is most valuable”. The founder of the Tsuzuki Educational Institution Group chose this word for the name of this school to serve as a reminder of its educational philosophy. This “Dai-ichi” does not mean “Number 1” or “Ichi-ban” in a competition, but means “character”. Our educational philosophy is to discover the best qualities and virtues, strong points and special skills of each student and to help them to grow. “Panorama Day,” which is an event unique to this school, is based on this philosophy. This school is highly appraised for its special ability to nurture each student’s character while developing their professional knowledge and skills.
In the area of club activities, our school holds many outstanding records in the world arena; our Brass Band won the Grand Prix (World Champions) twice in the Vienna Music Festival. Our Yacht Club members participated in the yacht race of European World Class Championship Yacht Races. The Equestrian Club won a victory in the Japan and Korea Friendship Games.
Entering 21st century, we receive many foreign students from countries across the world, such as the U.S.A., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Asian countries. We provide opportunities for our students to interact with them. We also offer information education programs, including multimedia, that are attuned to our information-driven society.
