NPU educates students to be excellent pharmacists with the knowledge and skills of Integrated Medicine, into which medicine and preventive medicine in the East and the West are combined, and with motivations to put the integrated medicine into practice.

Special Features of the Courses
We develop students’ abilities to understand medical services comprehensively as pharmacists, and cultivate their communication skills, which will promote an effective collaboration among medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and dietitians in each of the following courses:
●the Course of Health Pharmaceutical Sciences:
To train students to be pharmacists with ample knowledge and advanced skills who will be able to work with other medical experts or advise on patients’ health
●the Course of Kampo Pharmaceutical Sciences:
To train students to be pharmacists with the most advanced knowledge and skills of Kampo medicine who will be able to work with other medical experts or advise on patients’ health
●the Course of Medico-Pharmaceutical Sciences:
To train students to be pharmacists with advanced knowledge and skills of clinical medicine who will be able to work or advise as members of medical teams on patients’ health

●applied pharmaceutical studiesⅠ: designed for the first-year to the third-year students
●applied pharmaceutical studiesⅡ:designed to train the fourth-year to the sixth-year students to succeed in the Computer Based Testing (CBT), the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and the national examination for pharmacists
Support system for students
Teachers versed in assisting students are always ready to help first-year students in tutoring rooms with their study of basic subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and English.
All teaching staff are assigned as class teachers (tutors) to individual students, helping them with their study and school life. They also keep close contact with students’ parents.
We lead the students to attain their goals to become competent pharmacists contributing to people’s health and welfare.
